Facebook has reportedly tweaked its Feed algorithm to stop clickbait. A very good move by the company in its attempt to clean up News Feeds from posts that are only intended to collect clicks.
How does it work?
So starting today, Facebook will filter out clickbait the way Gmail filters out spam. The new algorithm detects specific words, structures, and styles in “news” headlines
Below are some examples from Facebook that will probably slowly disappear from our News Feeds:
"When I looked at the couch cushions I saw this and... I was shocked!"
"He put garlic in his shoes before going to bed and what happens next is hard to believe"
"You won't believe who fell on the red carpet..."
In other words, all the titles that try to pique interest for one reason and one reason only: collecting clickbait.
As for the content, don't worry, you're not missing anything..
