Microsoft recently announced that Windows 10 users will soon receive an update that will include the “Messaging everywhere” feature
With this feature, your operating system will allow you to send messages via your mobile phone from a desktop computer.
The company did not provide additional information on when we will see this update, but explained that for now it will be necessary to have a device with Windows 10 Mobile to enable the feature.
So at first this new feature will only work for devices with Windows Mobile 10, but at some point, Microsoft aims to extend the feature to Android devices as well.
“We’ll soon be enabling the preview of ‘Messaging everywhere,’ a Windows 10 feature that lets you send and receive text messages from your phone directly from Windows 10 PCs. You’ll see the options for this feature in the Messages app on your PC, but not on all mobile devices. The latest Mobile is required,” said Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program.
A new build of Windows 10 is expected next week. It remains to be seen whether Microsoft will be able to complete the feature review before it can be enabled.
