iPhone 7 Pro; Apple may be preparing to release a new 4-inch iPhone later this month, but it's the iPhone 7 that's grabbing everyone's attention.
According to a new report, Apple will release a major upgrade for the iPhone 7 phablet when it launches, along with a new name.
First and foremost, the name. It is believed that Apple could call the larger model “iPhone 7 Pro” or “the iPhone Pro,” closely following the same naming system they use for the MacBook and iPad.
But let's also look at the size of the device. If the Plus models continue to be released, that means Apple will have four variants of the iPhone on the market – the 4-inch model, the 4.7-inch model, the Plus (5.5-inch), and the Pro. If the company replaces the Plus with the Pro, then there will be three models, with the Pro being the largest in size and the most powerful in terms of features.
To make it Pro, Pro and live up to its name, Apple is planning a number of exclusive features, such as dual cameras. It's a feature that Apple has reportedly been working on for some time, and according to people familiar with the matter, the iPhone 7 Pro could be the first device to feature it.
It's not yet clear how the dual cameras will work, but it's believed they could be used to improve focus, or to capture panoramas. Apple is aiming to bring DSLR-quality photos to its iPhones, and the dual camera is reportedly the first step in that direction.
Clearly, nothing should be taken for granted for now, since the iPhone 7 launch is expected to take place in September.
