Kaspersky Lab has topped the TOP 3 index for the third year in a row , demonstrating that its products offer the best protection against digital threats. Kaspersky Lab products were ranked in the top three more times than any other vendor in comprehensive independent tests throughout 2015.
The TOP3 index, which is developed annually and used internally by Kaspersky Lab, measures the overall performance of more than 100 security solution providers that took part in various comparative tests of corporate and consumer products, as well as solutions for mobile devices.
To develop the index, only tests from recognized and independent laboratories, whose methodology is transparent and clear, are taken into account, such as AV-Comparatives, AV-TEST, Dennis Technology Labs, MRG Effitas, etc. The tests evaluate all protection technologies against known, unknown and advanced threats.
In Kaspersky Lab’s TOP3 measurement, each provider receives a score based on the number of times it was ranked in the top three positions in the ratings, based on the number of tests it participated in. Kaspersky Lab products participated in 94 independent tests during 2015 and took first place in 60 of them – the best result in the industry.
Kaspersky Lab products also achieved the highest percentage of appearing in the top three positions in the tests than any other vendor (82%).

Among the security solution providers included in the TOP3 measurements are the following: Avast, AVG, Avira, Bitdefender, BullGuard, ESET, F-Secure, G DATA, Intel Security (McAfee), Microsoft, Panda, Sophos, Symantec, Trend Micro, etc. The comparative tests taken into account for the TOP3 measurement evaluated the performance of security solutions in areas such as: malware detection and removal, mobile device security, and anti-phishing and parental control functions, among others.
