The Hellenic Police's Cybercrime Division investigated a case of cyberbullyingagainst two underage girls.
The investigation of the case started after a complaint was submitted to the Cybercrime Directorate by the school principal, where minors were enrolled
A regular procedure case was filed against a 15-year-old minor for causing harm through continuous cruel behavior.
The Hellenic Police's Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate investigated a case of cyberbullying against two minor girls and filed a regular case against a 15-year-old minor for causing harm through continuous cruel behavior.
Specifically, the investigation into the case began following a complaint for cyberbullying, submitted to the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate by the School Directorate, against unknown perpetrators.
According to the complaint, an unknown perpetrator via email sent ’ repeatedly a large number of messages with online bullying content (bullying), through an online application to underage female students of the School.
The above reported matters were submitted to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office and for a full investigation of the case the conduct of a preliminary examination was ordered by the Cybercrime Division.
Within the framework of the preliminary examination, a thorough and in‑depth police investigation of the digital evidence and data was carried out, as well as communication with the responsible managing company, internet service provider, from which arose the involvement and identification of a 15‑year‑old female student from the same school, as the perpetrator of the case.
The telephone device that was used for sending the messages was sent to the Δ.Ε.Ε. for laboratory examination. The case file of the regular procedure was submitted to the competent prosecutorial authority.
