The thesswiki project culminates with the organization of an editathon on September 26 and the holding of guided tours of selected museums in the city on September 26 and 27. During this two-day event, signs with QR codes where visitors will receive information on their mobile phones directly in their language via Wikipedia.
In the editathon, citizens and friends of the city will gather to write articles about the history and culture of the city. Inspiration will be provided by the collections of the Museums of Thessaloniki, which provided open digital content as part of the project and allowed its reuse through Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia. Anyone is invited to participate, while experienced Wikipedians will be present to help with the first steps on Wikipedia.
As you know, the Thesswiki project is an action of the Municipality of Thessaloniki that was included in the program of this year's anniversary Demetrios, the initiative of which was the Wikimedia Community User Group Greece in collaboration with the company PostScriptum and which was supported by the Greek Cultural and Social Council, and embraced by the city's communities, both national and international. The coordination of the action was the company PostScriptum.

Thesswiki is a WikiTown/City project that aims to digitize the history and culture of the city of Thessaloniki by its citizens themselves through Wikipedia, and at the same time to connect electronic entries with the urban web. It is an action to connect the digital and the physical world and has implications for culture, education, tourism promotion and e-government.
As part of the action, educational seminars on writing articles, webinars, workshops, etc. will take place. The project was proposed by the Wikimedia Community User Group Greece, is supported by the Municipality of Thessaloniki and is coordinated by the company PostScriptum in collaboration with the Greek Cultural and Literary Society.
Thessaloniki is an ideal case for this action as its multiculturalism, both yesterday and today, is evident, and the percentage of young people in the city (and potential lemmatographers) is high and with a strong volunteer spirit.
