The first curved computer monitor from Philips

MMD , a technology company and brand license partner of Philips Displays, introduces its first curved computer monitor. The 34-inch Brilliance Curved UltraWide display wraps around the user’s line of sight to create a truly immersive, immersive experience, while the visuals are complemented by rich DTS™ enhanced surround sound via built-in speakers.Philips Brilliance Curved UltraWide Philips Philips Philips

With an UltraWide display and Quad HD resolution, with sRGB colors and MultiView, the new 34-inch model with attractive curves will also enhance the productivity of professionals.

Curved screen and powerful sound for ultimate concentration

With the noise of voices, phones and employee movement, offices are full of distractions for those who need to focus on their work. What better way to stay focused than with a screen that gently curves around you and creates a more personal space?

The new Brilliance Curved UltraWide monitor puts the user at the center of the workspace. Up close, the perception is that the screen is completely dedicated to the person sitting at the desk. The curved shape allows users to turn their heads less to view content at the edges of the screen. The edge-to-edge glass and ultra-narrow bezel enhance the seamless appearance, increasing the viewing area.
Artem Khomenko, Product Manager EMEA at MMD, says, “The curved display brings the edges and pixels closer to the user, making the viewing experience more comfortable. Viewers sit closer to their computer screen than to a TV, so its curvature provides an immersive working experience with minimal distraction.”
The experience is enhanced by the monitor’s built-in audio technology, the DTS™ Sound Enrichment Suite, with which the built-in speakers expand and enliven the sound image, improve clarity and enhance bass surround effects.
With such exceptional graphics and sound surrounding them, users should be prepared to be captivated. In fact, if anything will distract them, it will be the stunning appearance of the display itself. Inspired by the curves of the environment, the smooth, elegant finish and quality construction materials elevate any desktop.

Image performance for greater productivity

In addition to its innovative curved lines, the new 34-inch Brilliance monitor also delivers excellent performance. Graphics are crisp and clear, thanks to CrystalClear, UltraWide Quad HD display, AH-IPS LCD technology and 3440×1440 resolution. The display can distinguish between a billion colors, ensuring smooth gradations. It also provides 99% sRGB color support, a crucial feature for maintaining color accuracy across applications and devices.
With the UltraWide 21:9 standard, there is plenty of room to spread out multiple applications during heavy multitasking. Users can, for example, view side-by-side comparisons without constantly switching between windows, read text and elements with extremely high contrast for uninterrupted concentration even when the screen is divided into multiple sections as with MultiView. This technology allows users to connect and watch content from multiple devices side by side, making complex multitasking much easier.
Picture performance gets an extra boost from Philips Smart Technologies, part of its commitment to giving users the best possible viewing experience. SmartContrast automatically adjusts colors and controls backlight intensity to improve contrast and the best digital picture and video. There is also a special Economy mode, ideal for viewing everyday office applications and lower power consumption. SmartResponse automatically puts response times into overdrive for applications such as gaming or movies and delivers a picture without tearing, lag or ghosting.

Easy connection and enjoyment

The new monitor features all the connectivity options to facilitate professionals: DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0 for maximum graphics performance, MHL technology for enjoyable viewing of content from mobile devices on the big screen, and USB 3.0 for fast file transfer and smartphone charging.

The new Philips curved UltraWide LCD monitor will be available in most electronics stores in the last quarter of 2015 for a price of €1149.
