A company called Sonovation has developed a new fingerprint technology for smartphones and tablets that could put an end to buttons on mobile devices using Touch ID.

Currently the majority of smartphones that have a fingerprint sensor have a built-in button.
This new technology from Sonovation features an ultrasonic biometric sensor under the Gorilla Glass screen, this can then be used to read your fingerprint on your devices screen.
This means that companies like Apple, which has a fingerprint sensor in a button (see iPhone), will be able to have the fingerprint sensor in its display, perhaps at some point in the future on newer devices.
Sonovation also says that sensors 3D scan whether a finger is wet, dirty or oily with accuracy, but without any problems .
So far there is no information on when we will see this new fingerprint technology on future devices, as soon as more details are released we will let you know.
