Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy A8 have already started circulating, but the South Korean company has not revealed anything about the new smartphone.
However, according to rumors, the Galaxy A8 is expected to be Samsung's thinnest Android smartphone, measuring just 5.9 mm thick.
Today, SamMobile published more information about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8.
It looks like Samsung will equip the device with a new 16-megapixel camera with an ISOCELL sensor. According to the aforementioned source, the camera sensor (LSI3P3) that will come with the Samsung Galaxy A8 will have a pixel size of 1.0 µm.
Also, the camera's thickness will be reduced by 5 millimeters, 23% thinner than the Sony IMX240 camera included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
This is probably one of the reasons why the Samsung Galaxy A8 will be only 5.9mm thick, making the device one of the thinnest to be released by the South Korean company.
For those unaware of the previous rumors, the Galaxy A8 will be a phablet with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display that will support full HD (1080p) resolution with 386ppi (pixels per inch).
Inside, there will be a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.
On the front there will be a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
We also know that the smartphone will be powered by a 3050 mAh battery and will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system with the latest version of TouchWiz UI.
