Yannis Varoufakis "does not have a Facebook," the ministry clarified in a statement that published the minister's relevant statement:
In particular, the Minister of Finance, in his statement to the press on Sunday afternoon, stated: "I clarify, to avoid misunderstandings, that I do not have a Facebook account.
"Any account that appears to be mine does not belong to me, nor is it managed by one of my associates.".
On Facebook, there are several accounts of fans of the Finance Minister, as well as one that is obviously a parody as it depicts Yanis Varoufakis as a Saint.
