Spartan will support additional applications

Everything indicates that Microsoft has decided to endow the Spartan browser with all the modern features that modern Web browsers have.

Spartan, which will be pre-installed on Windows 10 and will run on computers, tablets and smartphones, will be able to support extensions and add-ons that will enrich its functions.

This was confirmed by the team developing it at Microsoft, through a tweet on its official Twitter profile. In fact, it noted that there will be a future upgrade of Project Spartan through the available extensions.

According to The Verge, Microsoft is interested in allowing Chrome and Firefox add-on developers to port their software products to Spartan. It is not yet clear how extensions for the new browser will appear and be available, while Microsoft's intentions clearly indicate that it wants to completely separate Spartan from Internet Explorer.

The rendering engine on which Spartan's operation will be based will be Edge, again according to what The Verge tells us.

So far, apart from the issue of add-ons, we know that Spartan will support the Cortana function, will allow the user to note down anything they want on a web page with gestures on the screen, and will also have a reading mode.
