Windows 10 Technical Preview is already available for anyone who wants to see what's new in this particular version of the operating system, and thanks to new updates released on a monthly basis, more and more people are signing up for the Windows Insider program to try out the new product.
Since so many people are running Windows 10 Technical Preview right now, Microsoft wants to make sure they stay on the new operating system when the final version of the product is released. So it's already preparing improvements for the RTM release.
Gabriel Aul, head of development for Windows 10 Technical Preview, said that the new operating system will have the ability to upgrade immediately, without the need for a “clean” installation. So the RTM version will bring the option that will allow those who are currently using the Technical Preview to upgrade immediately.

"Our intention is to ensure that you will be able to upgrade from any build to the final release, without the need for a clean install," he said.
Microsoft is also giving Windows 7 users the option to upgrade to Windows 10 Technical Preview, and the option is likely to be improved in the coming months to allow those running that particular version of the operating system to upgrade directly to Windows 10 Final.
However, the pricing of the upcoming operating system remains unknown, as some believe that Microsoft could make Windows 10 available for free to those running Windows 7 and 8. But there is always the case that Microsoft could design a different pricing model inspired by Office 365 and offer Windows with a subscription system.
We could learn more information on January 21, when Microsoft is planning an event for the new Windows 10.
