The Windows – in various versions, especially with the «aged» Windows XP- remain the No 1 operating system on desktop PC with 1.5 billion users. An early version of Windows 10 is available to software engineers participating in the Windows Insider program. A first look at the new version will be available to everyone in January 2015, most likely with a demo at CES. Microsoft has scheduled a major press conference on January 21, 2015. It will be interesting to see whether Microsoft will actually make Windows 10 available as a free upgrade to Windows 8 users.
