Mozilla Foundation has released the new version 34 of Firefox browser, which comes with a WebRTC feature called “Firefox Hello.” Using this feature, you will be able to make video and audio calls to other Firefox users without any additional software or plugins.
The feature is not enabled by default, so even if you have the new feature you will not be able to use it. Below iGuRu.gr describes how you can enable the Firefox Hello feature in Firefox 34.
Firefox Hello is not enabled for all users because the Mozilla Foundation wanted to reduce the load on their servers. You can bypass the Mozilla team's restriction with the following steps:
Open a new tab and type the following text in the address bar:
about:config
Confirm that you will be careful in the warning message.
Type the following text in the page search
loop.throttled
You will see the loop.throttled parameter. Double-clicking on the parameter will set its value to false and enable Firefox Hello
. Restart Firefox.
Click on the menu button that looks like a “hamburger” (located at the top right of your browser) and then click on the “Customize” button. There you will find the “Hello” button.
Activate it to access the new service. Share the article so your friends can activate the service too. This way you will be able to make free video and audio calls with anyone who has Firefox and has activated the new feature.
