Microsoft has already begun removing from Bingresults of Europeans who wish to be forgotten.
This is what the search results removal request service Forget.me is claiming, thus showing a "good face" towards the European Union, following the decision on the protection of personal data in Europe.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed the news and stated that while they are in the process of optimizing the process, the goal is to find a satisfactory balance between individual privacy interests and the public interest in free expression.
Of the 699 requests submitted through Forget.me, 79 received a negative response. In two requests, the reasons were unjustified, while in the rest the responses were related to posts on social networks, with the Bing team suggesting “downloading” the relevant content from the specific networks to effectively remove it from search results.
