Philips: With innovations including the all-new SoftBlue display with anti-blue-light technology, 32-inch and 40-inch UltraClear 4K displays and G-SYNC for high-res gaming at 144 Hz, the exciting display range combines trends that improve people's lives at work and play

MMD , the leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips PC monitors, is unveiling innovations tailored to the way people work and live – such as the quest for health and well - being, the desire for entertainment and the desire for style and modern aesthetics in the home and workplace – at IFA 2014. IFA takes place from 5-10 September in Berlin.
Shifting the blue light toward the healthier end of the spectrum
People are spending more and more time with digital devices, and constant exposure to blue light through extended screen time poses a potential risk of long-term vision damage. Debuting at IFA 2014, the all-new Philips SoftBlue display reduces eye fatigue by eliminating the emission of harmful blue light wavelengths, helping to mitigate negative effects on the eyes and improve well-being. Unlike software-based approaches, the SoftBlue display works using a new technology that changes the blue-chip in the LED. This is done without affecting color fidelity or brightness, so users can enjoy familiar picture quality without the prolonged harmful effect of blue light exposure.

Another innovation that consistently focuses on a sharp, comfortable viewing experience is the 4K Ultra High Definition display, which offers four times more pixels per inch of screen as Full HD and offers four times the clarity for a brighter picture. Two new, larger 32-inch and 40-inch models will be introduced at IFA 2014 , expanding the 4K range with the addition of the 28-inch version. The larger displays offer even more screen space and clarity for detail-rich entertainment such as movies and games as well as data-intensive applications.
Amazing gaming
MMD introduces the 144HZ Gaming Monitor 272G5DYEB with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology , taking the gaming experience to the next level for serious gamers . By letting the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) control its refresh rate, the 27-inch monitor delivers ultra-smooth image motion that includes a more complete trajectory of moving objects – including critical images that are skipped on monitors with a standard refresh rate. At 144Hz, the screen content refreshes almost two and a half times faster than a standard monitor, giving gamers the instant response speed to aim with greater precision and take their gameplay to the next level.
Work time savings
Also on display at the show is the new 27-inch Philips 272P4A monitor with Adobe RGB technology , designed specifically for graphic designers. With a Quad HD (QHD) resolution of 2560 x 1440, the display delivers sharp details, especially important in applications that rely on pixel accuracy. With Adobe RGB, the display has many more colors than a regular display. Users also have the assurance of color consistency across devices during the production workflow. For example, images uploaded from digital cameras have exactly the same colors when displayed on the screen. This saves time and effort for photographers, graphic designers and other professionals. Performance with an impressive appearance As the new 27-inch 275C5 monitor proves, great technology and performance do not mean compromising on appearance. In addition to the Moda 2 design in glossy white, the new display features Bluetooth for a tidy, cable-free desktop and also supports Miracast technology. With two powerful 7W speakers for audio performance, the 275C5 can function as a standalone music station in the living room.
The exhibition is rounded out by Smart All-in-one touchscreen displays, integrated multimedia systems that bring exciting Android apps to large screens , and the new 21:9 Panoramic Ultra Wide display with 3440 x 1440 resolution for demanding multitasking data applications. Visitors to the Philips stand in Hall 22 will have the opportunity to try all of the above displays for themselves.
