Apple has changed its stance on bitcoin.

Six months after removing the Blockchain app from Apple , the company is once again allowing it to be distributed from its online store. “This appears to be the first strong and real indication that the company is ready to host the future development of digital currencies,” the Blockchain app’s executives said in a statement to Apple. “There is a long way to go before bitcoin is legalized, but now hundreds of millions of iOS users will have access to Bitcoin apps.”

The approval of a new app called Coinpocket and its inclusion in the App Store, according to Blockchain CEO Nicolas Cary, proves that Coinpocket is not wrong. It’s a pretty big deal for the world of bitcoin, a currency that exists only on the internet, independent of governments and the control of big banks. The currency began to enter the public consciousness last year, but there’s a long way to go, and a struggle to significantly expand its reach. Let’s not forget the various setbacks. Maybe the iPhone and iPad can help reboot the cryptocurrency.
