Interactive map from Norse reveals millions of cyberattacks in real time
An impressive interactive world map has been created by the American security company Norse, revealing in real time the "spearheads" of cyberattacks.
The US seems to be in the "eye" of the cyber cyclone, as the map shows that it is receiving the most attacks from hackers, sometimes from countries in northern Europe and sometimes from countries in Asia.
“Every second, our company receives and analyzes live cyberattacks launched from hundreds of locations in more than 40 countries,” Norse said in a statement. “With the help of the interactive map, you can see at a glance where the attacks start and end each time.”
Global threat leads to economic "hemorrhage"
The US Department of Defense recently announced that during 2012 it was receiving around 10 million cyberattacks per day.
According to experts, cybercrime is the 27th largest business crime, with cyberattacks costing the world 300 billion euros. This is a situation that, according to them, is causing a "hemorrhage" in the global economy, as it is at levels comparable to drug trafficking and piracy.
