Samsung has announced the Galaxy K Zoom, a hybrid device that combines the virtues of a modern smartphone with those of a full-fledged digital camera.
The device should be considered a successor to the S4 Zoom, incorporating a 20.7 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor camera, combined with a Xenon flash and optical image stabilization system. A particular point of reference is the optical zoom capability of 10x, without digital assistance.
The device features the user interface of the other Galaxy devices, retains the 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED screen found on the Galaxy S5, the company's flagship, while at its thickest point it reaches 20.2 mm, making it a fairly compact and easy-to-use device.

The Galaxy K Zoom runs Android 4.4 KitKat, has 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and is powered by a 2,430mAh battery. It is powered by a hexacore processor with two cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four cores clocked at 1.3GHz.
As is the case with the Galaxy S5, the K Zoom features an ultra power-saving mode, in which all functions that are not considered necessary are stopped, while the screen turns black and white, in order to save energy.
Samsung has endowed the Galaxy K Zoom with a number of new features, such as Selfie Alarm, which allows the user to select the area of the frame in which the face will be displayed. For connectivity needs, it supports Bluetooth 4.0 BLE, 802.11 a/b/g/n and NFC.
On the front, there is a 2 Megapixel camera installed for video chats, while it also has a series of accompanying sensors, such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, geomagnetic sensor and light sensor.
