The Mt Gox exchange website is back online, but don't rejoice, as the company is still in bankruptcy. However, the company is allowing users to log in and check their accounts. The measure sounds somewhat ironic, since the company's customers cannot access trading.
Of course, nothing changes for users, except that they can check their accounts. Bitcoins do not exist, so the website's move seems to be a move for impressions.
The assets of the Mt Gox are currently still being assessed by local authorities, after it declared bankruptcy a few weeks ago.
On February 28, Japan-based trading site and exchange Mt Gox filed for bankruptcy. The company initially announced that it was experiencing technical difficulties and had halted Bitcoin withdrawals, stating that the system should not be operating while the matter was investigated.
A couple of weeks later, the problem persisted. Transactions eventually froze and the website went down completely.
