It's well known that scammers use headline-grabbing events to lure their victims, so the latest big news they've thought of exploiting is the popularity of the game Flappy Bird and the fact that its developer has decided to pull it.
Security experts from Malwarebytes have discovered a website that appears to contain download links for iOS and Android of the popular game. The scammers claim to be offering a version of Flappy Bird that works on Windows Phones.
In fact, none of the links will actually download the game to your device. Instead, they will take you to a website where you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire to access the content.
It's good to know that no matter how many surveys you fill out, you're not going to get Flappy Bird. Scammers, on the other hand, make money every time someone fills out a survey, or even visits their website.
Experts report that the website in question has already been disabled, but that doesn't mean the scammers won't try again.
