Exclusive: Open Source Electronic Music with C++ by the friends of iGuRu.gr Fuji Kureta

Fuji Kureta is an electronic and downtempo music duo. Its members are Sahin Kureta (music-programming and friend of iGuRu.gr) and Deniz Ozturk (lyrics and vocals). The band started making music in August 2008. They make songs in English and French. The band's sound moves between soft but strong melodies with very inventive beats.
Their music is available on iTunes and the Free Music Archive.

Sahin Kureta, answering our question about how our songs were written, said:

“With openFrameworks and Kinect. We wrote them using two pieces of software: one for capturing the 3D RGB data coming from Kinect in different scenes, and one for playing scenes, switching between scenes, and controlling a 3D camera via a gamepad.

Kinect returns an array of 3D points and some of those points are simply not used. The first unused points were simply hidden. We wanted to use a  boid algorithm to take advantage of the unused points as well, but it turned out to be computationally expensive.

Finally, we have exported some scenes as image sequences using traditional post-processing and editing software (After Effects and Premier).

If you are interested in the project, the source code has been released on github.
