Russian engines put the Sygnus shuttle spacecraft into orbit

The United States sent the new Sygnus shuttle to the International Space Station, which was launched on Thursday with the help of the Antares carrier rocket, from NASA's spaceport on Wallops Island, Virginia, located on the Atlantic coast of the United States.

The successful placement of the spacecraft into orbit was ensured by the Russian-made NK-33/AJ-26 engines, which were installed in the first stage of the rocket.
Sygnus carries more than 1.3 tons of various cargo to the ISS (IIS) crew, including food, water, spare parts, as well as equipment and materials for scientific experiments.
