Facebook its privacy policy changes after some criticism from privacy groups.
The social network, with the changes it was preparing, wanted to make it clearer that it has every right to use its members' data in any way it sees fit, as long as it respects the settings they have made on the page. That is, your photos will only be shared for advertising purposes with the rest of the world if they are public.
Six privacy groups have asked the FTC to halt changes Facebook is preparing, based on a settlement Facebook signed in 2011. So the social network decided to postpone the changes. “We are taking the time to ensure that our users’ feedback is evaluated to determine whether further updates are needed,” Facebook said, adding that the issue will be resolved next week.
