Microsoft , in an unexpected move, released Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010. (The downloads, which have been gradually appearing since this morning in the Microsoft Download Center, appear to have been uploaded there since the day before yesterday, July 21.)
Microsoft released beta versions of Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 in early April 2013, but has not released any updates since then.
As was the case with the beta, the final release of SP2 is a compilation of all previous Office 2010 updates.
The new SP2 provides improved compatibility with IE 10, Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 , and Office 2013.
