Diebold Cardless ATM

DIEBOLDA new generation of automatic cash withdrawal machines was envisioned by the managers of the American company Diebold. The new ATM, with a touchscreen similar to that of a tablet, eliminates cards and works by scanning the user's face with the help of built-in security cameras.
But the recognition process does not stop there. The ATM connects in parallel with the user's smartphone when scanning a quick response code (QR code) that appears on the machine's screen using the mobile phone's camera. Through this movement, the hi-tech ATM is synchronized wirelessly with the bank's service, confirming the user's identity without inserting a card.

Each time the user wishes to withdraw money, a one-time code is sent to their mobile phone, which they must then enter at the ATM.

According to the company, the new system also offers the ability to send money to another user. The customer enters all the necessary information, such as the amount of money they wish to send to someone and that person’s contact information. The recipient of the amount then receives a one-time code that they can use at the ATM to withdraw their money.

This, Diebold, could make it easier for parents who wish to send money urgently to their children or people who are far from their place of residence, e.g. during a trip.

The idea for the ATM of the future was presented at a conference on automated teller machine technologies held in London.
