Some users are complaining on Microsoft that they can't shut down or restart their computers using Windows options.
The only way to shut down the computer is by manually pressing and holding the start button, as one user explained, as the available options can do absolutely nothing.
"After installing Windows 8.1 Preview, my computer cannot shut down or restart. I have to do it manually by pressing the power button for 10 seconds. I have installed all the updates and the system drivers are also up to date," the sufferer explained.
Microsoft released the first updates for Windows 8.1 Preview this week, so make sure you have all the patches if you're experiencing similar issues. New updates are expected soon, maybe with the next ones the company will let us shut down our computers.
However, installing a Preview version of a product, in addition to its positives, also has its negatives. You will certainly be among the first to discover the new features of the version, but you will also be among the first to encounter any errors, which are to be expected since the operating system has not yet reached its final form.
