The USA Pirate Party has announced plans to create a new social network that will let Americans communicate without the fear of being spied on by the National Security Agency.
With all the noise surrounding the NSA's PRISM scandal, sooner or later someone finally felt the obligation to offer a service safe from intelligence agency surveillance.
And the first to appear to create it is the US Pirate Party, as Business Insider reports.
Lindsay-Anne Bruner, president of the National Committee, says the Pirate Party has begun to seriously consider creating a new social network. They have even posted the idea on Facebook seeking help from people with the skills to make it happen.
So far, they know they want to model a social network after Diaspora, another similar project. It will use Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which is a method used to encrypt communication over the Internet.
Since the NSA can actually decrypt SSL if someone provides them with the SSL key, the Pirate Party promises that this will never happen.
