Apple is looking for a new iOS Communications Engineer who will be responsible for integrating new features into FaceTime and iMessage, and the position is at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino.
As always, Apple isn't saying much about what the new engineer's responsibilities will be, but according to the ad, it's looking for a dynamic, highly motivated engineer with over a year of experience to share their experiences in app development.
He will be responsible for integrating new features into FaceTime and iMessage apps as well as developing more complex apps from scratch, according to the ad.
The ad was discovered by AppleBitch and has naturally led many to believe that Apple wants to significantly improve FaceTime and iMessage in iOS 7. Both apps, especially iMessage, have become quite popular among iOS users, which is why Apple often promotes them in its ads.
This does not mean, however, that there is no room for improvement, especially in FaceTime, which if it wants to compete with services like Skype, will have to add several features, such as group video calling.
Apple is expected to unveil iOS 7 at WWDC in June to pave the way for the iPhone 5S, which is expected to be released in the fall.
