The people behind the well-known Firefox browser do not seem willing to make it available for iOS anytime soon as they claim that Apple's policy is hostile and unacceptable to third-party software providers, especially when it comes to competitors to their own browser, Safari.
Mozilla vice president Jay Sullivan, in a discussion he took part in at SXSW, was categorical about this, stating that they would not be able to successfully port the Javascript technology that Firefox uses as it stands and they are also annoyed by the fact that Apple does not allow iPhone and iPad users to change their default browser as they wish.

The sticking point for Mozilla is not being able to carry over its sophisticated rendering and javascript engines to iOS. Essentially, the organization doesn't feel like it can build the browser it wants to for Apple's platform, Sullivan told CNET.
Sullivan went on to say more aggressively that iOS users suffer because of how closed iOS is. Unfortunately for him, there were quite a few iOS users in the audience watching him from below who didn't seem to share his views.
