Reuters exclusively reported that Apple Inc were attacked by the same hackers who attacked Facebook Inc, but no data appears to have been stolen. The company said on Monday it had admitted to the attack in an unprecedented admission of a widespread cybersecurity breach.
Facebook Friday that unknown hackers were detected trying to compromise the website from China with a sophisticated attack after they had infiltrated its employees' laptops, but it did not provide further information.
Apple, which is working with law enforcement to track down the hackers, told Reuters that only a small number of its employees' Macintosh computers were compromised, but "we found no evidence that any data was taken from Apple."
Apple announced that it will release a tool later today to protect its consumers against the malware used in the attacks.
