Certainly, all that is said and heard about Apple's stock and its future cannot leave its employees unaffected, and Tim Cook knows this well. So, in preparation for unifying everyone, he rushed to reassure them by speaking with particular pomp about what it means to be Apple and its products.
Initially, as expected, he referred to Apple's stock, which as we recently reported to you, fell to second place, leaving the top spot to an oil company. He stressed that they should not be worried about this and that they should focus on the recent impressive profits that the company recorded in the last quarter. They should not be worried at all and he is not concerned about the fact that an oil company surpassed Apple. He even jokingly asked them who would really like to go and work there and leave Apple. He also stressed that Apple's goal was not and is not to reach number 1 on the stock market, but to create products that will make consumers happy.
we [Apple] just had the best quarter of any technology company ever.” Cook said. "the only companies that report better quarters pump oil. I don't know about you all, but I don't want to work for those companies
He also mentioned the new Employee Purchase Plan that will start today and will allow every Apple employee to have a special discount on unlocked iPhones as well as iPad Minis and new iMacs.
Finally, he also mentioned the competition. He admitted that although Android has the largest market share, Apple is making more profits and he is happy that they do not face the problem of device fragmentation that their competitor has. People love iOS and the iPhone is a device that pleases users.
He closed his speech by emphasizing that if the various divisions of Apple were companies in their own right, they would easily be on Forbes' list of the 500 best companies every year, thus declaring the amazing work done by each of them.
