"There was an exchange of gunfire with the suspect. We had no alternative but to use the robot with the explosive device against him," said Dallas Police Chief David Brown, noting that any other option would have put officers at risk.
The incident took place during an anti-racism rally against police brutalityin Dallas, which was held in the wake of the latest deadly police attacks on African Americans in Minnesota and Louisiana.

During the demonstration, which eventually turned violent, a 25-year-old sniper decided to take the law into his own hands, wanting to bring justice for the unjust deaths of the two African-Americans. Five police officers were fatally shot by 25-year-old Micah Johnson, a former member of the US Special Forces who had served in Afghanistan, among other places, from November 2013 to July 2014.

Before he was found dead by the police robot bomb, Micah threatened the police that the end was coming, for white people, and that bombs had been placed all over the country.

This is the first time that robots have been used to neutralize a suspect by law enforcement in the United States. Although we have seen similar robots used by the police and the military in combat operations, they were previously used only to neutralize suspicious objects. Now, however, robots are being thrown into battle, killing, which has raised significant concerns among the general public.
