The same Anonymous hacker who carried out DDoS attacks on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) last weekend for the news censorship practices returned today with new attacks on the EFF and ZANU-PF, two black nationalist political parties in South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The hacker started with simple DDoS attacks that brought down the official websites of these two organizations. However, both sites are currently back up and running.
In statements via Twitter, the hacker accused the two political parties of having a history of racism.
Known as Zim4thewin, the hacker has carried out similar DDoS attacks against the EFF in the past week before the SABC DDoS attack that brought him to light.
EFF (Economic Freedom Fighter) is a political party of black nationalists and socialists in South Africa. The group's goal is to win the majority of the African National Congress (ANC) of the country so that it can implement the main “program”.
The party leaders have many times publicly stated that they want to dispossess lands that have been taken from white people and give them back to the black population. Furthermore, the EFF also wants to nationalize the country's mining and banking sectors.
The group, which is the third largest political party in South Africa, has a similar "program" to the ZANU-PF (Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front) party that has already dominated Zimbabwe since 1980. In the 1980s, ZANU-PF had confiscated large agricultural lands that belonged in most cases to the white minority and redistributed them to the black population.
