Iraq has done it again! The country's Ministry of Communications has shut down internet access across the country for the second year in a row to prevent students from cheating on exams!
This year the Internet was shut down on May 14, 15 and 16 from 8 to 11 am (5:00 am-8:00 am GMT), the time of Iraq's official secondary school exams.
The exact same thing happened in 2015, but no Iraqi official had admitted it! Since it happened again this year, coincidentally, on the official day of the exams, there is no need for anyone from the government to admit it, since everyone can now reach the obvious conclusion!

An Iraqi Internet provider leaked the contents of an email it received from government officials to Facebook. Watch it:
SMEX, an organization for the defense and development of media in Arab countries, also noted that major Internet content distribution networks such as Akamai and Dyn had a complete lack of connectivity from Iraqi servers on exactly the aforementioned dates and times.
If it was so easy for the Iraqi government to cut off the Internet because of some school exams, imagine how simple it would be to do so in the event of an Arab Spring-style protest.
