360-degree videos, while not as immersive as virtual reality, can transport you to any part of the world. With the ability to look in all directions, it's almost like you're actually there – without having to physically travel.
Google just decided to make a fantastic 360-degree video to give a tour of one of its massive data centers, demonstrating how the Google Cloud platform works. If you've ever wondered where and how your data is stored, this immersive video is definitely one you should check out.
The 8-minute, 360-degree video is available online and on Google Cardboard for Android with the YouTube. iOS does not currently support it. For best results in your browser, we recommend watching in 4K (2160p), if you can.
In the video, Sandeep, a developer advocate on the Google Cloud Platform, will give you a tour of Google's Data Center infrastructure in The Dalles, Oregon.
The data center is extremely secure, and like something you would see in a spy movie, employees must go through a biometric iris scan. Then, one at a time, employees walk through a circle lock door and use dual authentication to gain entry.
We won't spoil it for you. You can watch the full 360-degree video below (just don't forget to use your mouse to move around the video).
