Don't want that game you hated to keep filling up your Steam library? Now you can remove it for good.
Got a game in your Steam library that you no longer play and just want it gone? Maybe you bought something that turned out to be terrible and you just don't want to see it again. No problem: Now you can easily remove games from your library for good.
The answer came from a user at Enter the Dragon Punch on the NeoGAF forums, who found the perma-delete feature while visiting Steam's support section. The ability to permanently delete a game is a huge improvement over the old situation, where you had to contact Steam's support team.
How to permanently remove games from your library
Here's how to do it in practice. Visit the Steam support website, then log in with your account details. Click on Games, Software, etc., then select the game you want to delete (you may have to search for it). Then select I want to permanently remove this game from my account. Follow the instructions and the game will be removed from your library for good.
Alternatively, you can open the Steam client on your computer, select a game from your library while in Details view (if you are in Icon view, click Details). Select the Support from Links column on the right side, and then click I want to permanently remove this game from my account.
Steam advises that you uninstall the game you want to delete from within their app before removing it from your account: If you don't, you'll have to find the game on your hard drive and uninstall it manually. With that in mind, the first removal option is probably the best.
However, there are some pitfalls: As PCGamer, you can't delete a bundle of items you unlocked using a single product key with this method. Perhaps, it's a small price to pay for being able to manage your account more efficiently!
