According to information from SecNews, all of Greece “fell” on it and the most unsuccessful decision of the Greek Police is about to be revoked, if it was applied. The reactions that emerged were more than loud with many websites and ordinary people being stunned by the decision. We hope that the developments will be positive and that those responsible will not prove to be incompetent in the end!!!
Major General Manolis Sfakianakis is no longer the head of the Cybercrime Directorate. The man who built the service from scratch, from 1995 until today, with numerous successes and dozens of cases of saving human lives, is being transferred to a secondary “inactive” service, the Administrative Support and Human Resources Branch, after the latest crises of the Hellenic Police.
He retained the rank of lieutenant general, but his transfer to the service in question – which was ordered by an urgent signal from the Director of the ELAS, Mr. Tsouvalas – is considered a clear demotion and obviously raises the question of his future retirement.
This specific move was unexpected and unexpected, which possibly hides some "personal grudge" against him, from a portion of high-ranking Hellenic Police officers, who consider him a permanent threat to their own future.
Mr. Sfakianakis' removal is considered unexpected, while ELAS sources comment that it may be due to the anger of high-ranking Police officials towards him, who were concerned that Sfakianakis' presence was adversely affecting their own course and advancement.
According to the report, Major General Sfakianakis does not accept the transfer and will take any legal action.
