A new variant of the infamous Tinba banking trojan has spread panic by targeting financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Tinba is a 20KB banking trojan that was first encountered in mid-2012, and in July 2014, security experts at CSIS Security Group discovered that the source code of the Tinba banking trojan was published on an underground forum.

The source code for the Tιnbα banking trojan, also known as TinyBanker, has been leaked into the cybercrime ecosystem, with this malware being identified as the smallest banking malicious code available on underground forums.
