PRESS RELEASE – The Hellenic Police's Cybercrime Directorate (DIE) arrested a 44-year-old Greek national for breach of personal data, insults and repeated threats
This was preceded by a complaint from a Greek citizen, the former romantic partner of the above, for illegal possession of personal (photographs and videos of their personal erotic moments) as well as for continuous insults and threats to post and publish them on the Internet.

The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate has filed a criminal case against a 44-year-old Greek national for violation of the Personal Data Protection Act, insults and repeated threats.
Specifically, the investigation into the case began following a complaint by a 43-year-old Greek national, according to which the above-mentioned man, who was her former partner, possessed, without her consent and consent, material (photographs and videos) of their sexual moments, for which he constantly threatened her that he would post it on the internet.
According to the complaint, the 44-year-old had purchased a video camera and recorded their intimate moments without her knowledge. In fact, he published part of the audio-visual material without her permission on a well-known social networking page, thus damaging her honor and reputation.
The above allegations were brought to the attention of the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office and the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate was ordered to carry out the necessary investigative actions, within the framework of which a thorough and in-depth police investigation of digital evidence and data was carried out, in order to clarify the case.
In a search conducted this morning at the 44-year-old's home, a laptop computer and a mobile phone were found and seized, on which personal data (images and videos) of the 43-year-old were stored in digital form.
The seized digital media will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for laboratory tests and in order to determine whether the 44-year-old is involved in posting the disputed image and audio files on the internet .
The perpetrator, with the case file filed against him, will be taken to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office.
