Android users who were hoping that Google would release a new version of the operating system at its annual I/O conference in San Francisco next week may be disappointed, because the company has released a new version this week.
On Friday, some images of Android 4.4.4 – yes, we're still talking about "KitKat" – were released for the Nexus 4 and 5 phones and the Nexus 7 and 8 tablets. The new build number is KTU84P.
So far there is no official announcement, but Sascha Prüter of Google said via a post on the page he maintains on Google+ that the updated version mainly concerns the identification of vulnerability CVE-2014-0224.
