Research: Tablets help children love reading and become smarter

We undoubtedly live in an era where technology has become an integral part of our lives. Children, like adults, are naturally not unaffected and are attracted to it.

Most kids are now excited about the idea of ​​owning or playing with a tablet. In all this excitement, books and other traditional forms of entertainment seem to have been neglected. However, technology and reading books can be effectively combined.

According to a new study conducted by LifeProof, most parents (70%) now use a tablet to read stories to their children.

Moms and dads claim that reading stories on tablets is much more enjoyable and enjoyable, due to the videos and additional sound effects that make digital storytelling more interactive. About half of the parents who participated in the survey said that they read stories to their children on a daily basis via tablet, just before putting them to bed.

Finally, 10% of parents believe that tablets help their children become smarter. Indeed, technology seems to accelerate the development process of children who use it, unlike children who grow up without it.

“Storytelling is an important part of a child's everyday life, and it's great to see tablets being used for this activity and encouraging creative interaction between parents and children.”.

“It’s also very encouraging to see parents using smartphones and tablets as educational tools – and even the very youngest members of the family have something to gain from using these devices,” LifeProof noted.
