The Neptune Pine is one of the few smartwatches that doesn't rely on a smartphone, like the Samsung Galaxy Gear or the Sony SmartWatch 2. It's more of a smartphone than a smartwatch, and it just happens to have a strap. It's powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB or 32GB of storage. It also has a VGA front-facing camera for video calling and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera.
Both come with LED flash. The screen is 2.4 inches diagonally and supports a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels while it runs full Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. This means that it supports all Android applications, however, the company is still "struggling" to gain access to Google Play. If you insert a microSIM then you will be able to make or answer calls while the Neptune Pine allows you to browse the Internet, play games, watch videos, etc. As for the battery, the manufacturer promises 120 hours of stand-by, 10 hours of music playback and 8 hours of talk time (2G) or 7 hours of Internet via WiFi. The successful Kickstarter project is expected to be available from January 2014 with a price of approximately 160 euros.
