Google dedicates today's logo to International Children's Rights Day.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is the most widely accepted human rights text worldwide, was adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 20, 1989.
It sets out basic principles for the well-being of children at various stages of their development and consists of 54 articles. The Convention was initiated by the Polish government and UNICEF, was unanimously adopted by the UN General Assembly on 20 November 1989 and entered into force in 1990. To date, it has been ratified by almost all countries in the world, while in Greece it was ratified in 1992 (Government Gazette 192/2.12.92).
This specific Convention has not been ratified by the United States of America and Somalia.
