Do you remember phablets? The term first used by Samsung and later renounced in disgust by other manufacturers? If you forget, we remind you that according to Samsung, the mobile gospel is smartphones with large screens. The hybrids between a tablet and a phone. The big ones, anyway. Well, now add a new word to your vocabulary. Fonblet. What is this?
Fonblet, dear readers, is the old and well-known PDA, as seen in the Koreans' presentation slide. That is, a mobile device, with a large screen that supports the use of a stylus. But, you might say, the entire Note series, that's it. Yes, that's it, and it seems that Samsung will launch these series as Fonblet.
Do you like the name? It reminds us of something from failed TV commercials for American-made home appliances from the 1990s. Tell us if we're wrong, but Samsung isn't doing too well with terms. It makes devices. But it needs a little work on names. Of course, we understand. The term PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) refers to very old devices and also, as we researched and learned, is a term that was first used in 1992 by former AppleJohn Sculley. So Samsung has two good reasons to look for new terminology for its multi-tools. But Fonblet???
