Twitter employees accused of being accomplices in Anonymous' Operation Payback

Last week, 13 people were formally charged with involvement in Operation Payback, the campaign launched by AnonymousAmong them are people who have worked for several major internet companies.

According to The Verge, one of the people charged works for Twitter. The 27-year-old Ryan Gubele is a former Amazon employee and started working at Twitter in June, where he continues to be employed as an engineer.

Another one is Phillio Simpson, who works for a preparation checks service, while Anthony Tadors continues to be a student, even though he has worked as a security analyst for the University of Connecticut.

They, along with the others on the list, have been accused of launching a cyberattack on the Motion Picture Association of America in retaliation for the shutdown of “The Pirate Bay.” Later, in the wake of the same operation, attacks were carried out on a variety of websites, including those of the Recording Industry Association of America, the British Phonographic Institute, and many other organizations that fight piracy.
