The… dating apps, the so-called “dating apps» like Tinder and League, which are based on users' location, have over 91 million users combined. And according to a recent survey, nearly two-thirds of "digital matchmakers" users are menIn fact, one in five pays a little more to access premium services. The majority of users are aged between 16 and 34, representing approximately 70% of the total user base. The survey was conducted by the research company GlobalWebIndex, based in London, and according to it, 6% of internet users nowadays use a dating app, as reported by the Guardian.

"It is worth noting that one-fifth of users of these applications pay to access ... online dating," write the report's authors Jason Mander and Felim McGrath.

Last year, a similar survey by the Pew Research Center found that men are more active users of such apps and websites.

Furthermore, 13% of men in the US had used a dating app/website, while the corresponding percentage among women was 9%.

According to Tinder, users spend an average of 11 minutes a day on the company's app. Women spend 8.5 minutes, while men spend 7.2.

The GlobalWebIndex report says that location-based dating apps have started to become particularly popular in countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, Mexico, India, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Vietnam.
