Last August, Officer Bear participated in a coordinated operation by the Indiana State Police, USA, which resulted in the discovery of a hard drive in the home of an American public figure. As determined by investigators, the hard drive contained video and photographic material of child pornography, proving the suspect’s guilt.
Jared Fogle, particularly known in the US for his participation in advertising campaigns for a well-known restaurant chain, was found guilty of pedophilia and possession of child pornography and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Fogle pleaded guilty to the charges, but only after police used Bear for a second search of the perpetrator's home, as no evidence was found during the first search.

In fact, continuing on the path already successfully paved by the four-legged Bear and following a donation of 15,000 euros from the Montgomery County Crimestoppers organization, the Texas police welcomed a new member to the Hard-drive Sniffing K9 Dogs team.
The dog, named Brody, has been trained to sniff out the special adhesives used in the production of data storage media. Brody can sniff out hard drives, USB sticks, thumb drives and even tiny SD cards, hidden in even the most unlikely places.
"We have found data storage devices in safes buried under the floor or hidden in the roof, devices that are very well hidden," says a senior police officer.
…The only thing that is certain is that US police forces have a reliable weapon in the fight against child pornography and pedophilia, which can also be used in other investigations, and more generally wherever the police need to locate hard drives that contain data and information about the activities of suspects, such as in cases of financial fraud, organized crime, and so on.
