TP-LINK has a new range of smartphones called Neffos, which will be released around February 2016.
With $272.28 billion in global revenue, the smartphone industry is one of the largest businesses in the world. That's a tough nut to crack when you consider Apple and Samsung holding the lion's share of the market and a bunch of smaller players vying for the remaining market share.
So, TP-LINK is planning to do just that with a new range of smartphones called Neffos. The company has confirmed that the new series of smartphones will be announced worldwide in February. In a statement to the press, TP-LINK said that its smartphones will have a user-friendly design that is “smart and simple.”
The company is best known for its range of routers, smart home systems and cloud services. The company claims to hold at least 42.9 percent of the global market share in Wi-Fi products, which is almost 4.5 times more than its nearest competitor. TP -LINK is also the largest shareholder of the Small Office and Home Office (SOHO) networking market in China.
TP-LINK President Jeffrey Chao said: “Our original intention for developing Neffos was to create a unique digital experience by establishing an unprecedented connection between people and devices. We believe that a true smartphone could provide a sense of enjoyment of technology for users, while at the same time offering them a simple lifestyle in such an era of so much information from everywhere, so that for users, the smartphone is not just a tool, but a piece of fashion that reflects the personality of each individual user.”
Although TP-LINK has not released much information about the phone, we suspect that the phone is based on Android.
