Spybot Anti-Beacon: If you're still looking for a way to boost your protection, try this app.
Everyone has heard about the privacy issue with Windows 10, and so many applications have been released that promise to help you block data collection, that it's almost impossible to choose which one is the best, mainly because they all claim to disable anything that supposedly tracks you on the new operating system.
Spybot Anti-Beacon is one of the latest additions to the arsenal of applications that can be used against Microsoft 's military data collection and arrives with a package that can be applied to both beginners and more experienced users.
As you can see in the image above, the application comes with a simple interface, and while this is a good thing for the majority of users, it can still be a double-edged sword.
Let's start with the cons. Sure, it helps you protect your privacy with just one click, but it gives less control to power users who want to control what, when, and how to block each data tracking service in Windows 10, so this is one of the issues that could be resolved in a future update to the app.
Now let's look at the benefits. You can block telemetry hosts, services, and group policies, disable Wi-Fi sense, P2P Windows updates outside the local network, and application copies of telemetry group policy. What else? You can block applications using your advertising ID.
Users will be able to simply disable all of this by clicking the “Immunize” button on the main screen of the application, while the optional tab also offers some extra settings, such as control over OneDrive, Cortana, and web search.
As you may have already noticed, the application is not as powerful as other similar apps for the same purpose, such as O&O ShutUp10, which can also disable data collection in Windows 10, but improvements can always be added later with more updates. It is worth a try if you want something simple.
